I just built a retro pc, but i am facing some driver issues. I installed Win98SE by my father's old disc. Specs are: DFI P2XLX Rev2 Mendocino Celeron 333Mhz 256mb samsung sd ram MX440SE and some PCI cards(with which i am having issues) SoundBlaster Live 5.1 SB0100 Chronos(ik:P) PCI2USB, which uses a VIA VT6212L chip. So i found an iso of the original SoundBlaster disc, and drivers for the VIA chip, but when i start the install, i get an error that says that the setup did not find any supported cards on the system. They are both installed on the motherboard, and i can see them in device manager. I also tried to reinstall the drivers by pointing device manager to the driver folder, but still nothing.
Box shot 3d v2.6. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i have never used Win98 much. I was 2 years old when they came out. Thanks in advance! I uploaded some pics!
Thank you once again. I tried the link, but i get an error.
But its ok, because i was lucky enough to find the original driver disc But i am so unlucky that my dvd drive just died:P It worked like a charm a few hours ago that i installed windows. I will borrow a drive, and try to install it through the CD. As for the sound blaster, i have deleted the disc files from the HDD, so i have to re-copy the whole thing. 300MB via USB 1.1 is kinda painfull, so i will try it after i get the usb 2.0 card working. Once again, thanks for your help!! Well, i used my old laptop to copy the files from the original disc. While it was copying(damn, usb 1.1 is the only bad part about these retro machines), i added an intel PCI ethernet adapter, just because i had it.
I didnt mean to connect to the internet. Right after i installed the driver for it, i got a bsod. And i am now getting bsod on boot. Time to reformat i guess. I visited the link, selected my OS and Card, but it says: due to licensing agreements, a VIA USB2 driver package cannot be distributed online.
Windows Pci Device Driver
Driver support for VIA USB 2.0 controllers requires Windows XP SP1 (Service Pack 1), Windows 2000 SP4, or system upgrade through Windows Update. The VIA USB2 driver package below can be installed after the Microsoft driver to further improve device compatibility. I hope the CD files are going to work Thank you, once again for the help.

A guy at church gave me a computer that had bad luck finding drivers for post installing win98. I opened up my desktop and found out that the video card in the computer is an 'ati radeon 7000 64mb 'c3d 6051' but Google hates that term. It says no results for: ati radeon 7000 64mb 'c3d 6051' and then it searches without quotes with the closest being an eBay result for the video card 'c3d 605 3' not 'c3d 605 1'. I put in a sound card, a 'creative labs ct5803' I had in a box for awhile which was an easy driver to find since I had no clue on what sound the gateway G6-300 (LPmini-tower) had even after opening it up.
Free Pci Drivers Windows 7
But I prefer the original sound drivers for the machine. I need a Ethernet driver as well, and a USB PCI driver for 1 thing which puzzles me because win98 has drivers for all other USB ports. There are a few other drivers missing.
So Before setup the device software, please disable/uninstall anti-virus software or install a more reliable free virus scanner! Our ak400 key programmer software is completely safe and virus free and all other virus scanners confirm this.
It is impossible to find old drivers on the internet for old operating systems like this. There is a sticker on the front of the machine 'designed for windows 98'. So drivers are somewhere around but I suck at Google searching.
I can provide SN number if it helps any, but Google hated the number as well. Any one of you techies know where the missing drivers are on the www?

I would edit your post to remove the Windows 98 key.
Edit: The above info will help. Edit: For Ethernet go and use the dropdown boxes to select your OS, Network, SIS900.
I am not sure but the link may take you directly to the download page for the SIS Ethernet adapter with a Capcha Edit Edit: For the USB controller go.
