Hi, Go to Start/Control Panel/Add New Hardware.it will be listed there. Also, in the Device Manager is there any + signs open showing errors in any category? To remove Unknown or Other Devices: You can delete the non-present devices from registry. To determine the hardware key of the device: Go to Start/Run/CMD.
Unknown Device Root Legacy Saskutil 0000
At the command prompt, type the following commands and press enter after each line: set DEVMGRSHOWDETAILS=1 set DEVMGRSHOWNONPRESENTDEVICES=1 start devmgmt.msc Click the View menu and select Show hidden devices. Right click the device you want to delete and click Properties. Click the Details tab. Select Device Instance ID. The value of Device Instance ID is the hardware key of the device. For example, if you see the value is Root Image 0000, the full hardware key is: HKEYLOCALMACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Enum Root Image 0000 Then go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to the key. The data of the Driver value is the software key of the device.
Delete both the hardware key and software key. Hi Kelly, Thanks for the help. Easycap usb software download. I went through the procedures you described and found 2 hidden unknown devices and one not hidden. I got rid of both of the hidden unknowns.
The one not hidden has a detail of Root Serial 0000. That one will not stay away. In the registry, device parameters shows a port name of Com4. Other names showing are forcefifoenable and maskinverted. Control also has entries and so does logconf. If this has something to do with com4, how do I get rid of it?
Unknown Device Root Image 0000
The only com's I use are com1, com2, and my modem card on com3. Device manager lists only com1 and com2.
Have two HP Envy 15 x 360 PC 64-bit laptops. On both computers we find an “Unknown device” under “Other devices” in Device Manager. We Uninstall it, but eventually it returns. Under Properties: General tab: “The drivers for this device are not installed.
(Code 28) To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.” However, it fails to find a driver. Details tab: Has different “Value” entries, depending on the “Property” selected. Sample posting to the Events tab/Information section: “Driver Management concluded the process to install driver nettap60.infamd64bec9f7 nettap60.inf for Device Instance ID ROOT NET 0000 with the following status: 0x0.” The hardware Id Value is root NetTap6 Any idea what this unknown driver is? Please follow these steps: 1.
In the Run box type devmgmt.msc. Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark. Select the unknown device or other device for which you need drivers and right click to access Properties. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down. An alphanumeric string like this PCI VEN1217&DEV7130&SUBSYS012F1025&REV01 4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
Please provide this number so that we can suggest the appropriate driver.
